The second in a row Mediterranean Gemmological and Jewelery Conference (Mediterranean Gem and Jewellery Conference), dedicated to the definition of refined diamonds, will be held 7-9 May 2016 in Valencia, Spain. Lectures at the conference will be held gemologists leading independent laboratories, manufacturers of refined diamonds and industry experts, and will focus on a range of issues, especially those that are the most important and complex for the jewelry industry. The theme of the conference will be the upgrading of diamonds.
A number of international experts, such as Dr. David Fisher (David Fisher) from De Beers Technologies, Dr Catherine de Korte (Katrien de Corte) from the laboratory of HRD Antwerp, Sonni Poup (Sonny Pope) of Suncrest Diamonds, Dr. Alan Hart (Alan Hart) from the British Museum, and others, will talk about the discovery of refined diamonds, different types of diamonds, production technologies HPHT and CVD synthetic stones, as well as other important topics the industry.
Gemologists, connoisseurs of diamonds and diamantaires can get hands-on experience with diamonds on the two seminars for the classification and screening of natural and synthetic stones, and for the detection of refined diamonds.

Conference is organized by the Greek Independent gemological laboratory (Independent Gemological Lab, IGL) and the Swiss-Canadian gemological laboratory CGL-GRS in cooperation with MLLOPIS laboratories (Valencia) and NAJA (USA).
