Pankaj Kumar Parekh, who assumes the chairmanship of the Indian Council for the Promotion of the Export of Gemstones and Jewelry (GJEPC), was awarded the Diamond Dealers Club (DDC). The Parekhu Prize was awarded to DDC President Reuven Kaufman and Honorary President of WFDB and DDC Eli Izhakoff at a reception during the first Indian Diamond Week in New York, IDEX Online reported.
Kaufman stated that "Parekh is one of the most important people in the Indian diamond industry and he has worked diligently to develop Indian industry and improve Indian-American trade relations." Parekh has been widely recognized for his leadership qualities and outstanding efforts in strengthening ties between the Indian GJEPC and the Diamond Dealers Club.
Parekh noted that it was a great honor for him to be among DDC guests, adding that he fulfilled his tasks during the diamond week. "Our participants are very satisfied. Of course, there is online trade and business over the Internet, but each dealer prefers personal acquaintance and communication "face to face" ... This is a huge advantage - to be here, to have an opportunity to communicate directly with the target audience. " Parekh noted that such trade events have a positive impact on the development of Indian trade.
Parekh also spoke about the symbiosis of GJEPC and DDC. "These organizations complement each other. Our cooperation has a rich history, and we are sure that it will continue for many years ... Indian exhibitors will come with great enthusiasm to the next event at DDC, and we expect even more visitors. "
